Loaves & Fishes Christmas Appeal

Over many years now…

Westwood Church has supported the work of East Kilbride charity Loaves and Fishes. These may be hard times for people so all the more reason to do what we can to support our community and those who work for the good of the community.

We are supporting the Loaves and Fishes Christmas 2022 Appeal and hope that you might do that too. Any items to be donated MUST be brought to the church by Sunday 4th December to allow time for Loaves and Fishes staff to distribute in time for Christmas celebrations.

We encourage you to follow the items list below and to think carefully about the items being donated. Items that need long cooking times are not ideal right now as they tend to push up energy costs in the home; cost which many will not be able to carry or are anxious that they will end up in debt.

• Toys, games, books, arts & crafts.
• Advent calendars & selection boxes.
• Hats, scarves, gloves & hot water bottles.
• Mince pies & Christmas puddings, 
• Christmas chocolates & shortbread.
• Hot chocolate, coffee, meringues & UHT cream.
• Tins of cold meat & tuna, red box pasta, cooking oil.
• Razors, deodorant, shaving foam.
• Bubble bath, toiletry gift sets, baby shampoo, soap.
• Large size shower gels, conditioner, shampoo.
• Tin foil, bin bags, cleaning sprays.

Westwood Church is open to receive donations on Wednesdays 10am to 1pm and Sundays from 9am to 12noon.

It may be possible to hand in donations outwith these times if staff of FAB Out of School Care are willing to receive them. Out of School Care is a protected environment for children and staff may choose not to answer the door to anyone other than parents or guardians of the children in their care.
