Hall Hire Q&A’s
Here’s some typical questions that come up when folk are thinking about hiring the church hall. We hope the answers will be helpful.
Q.
How much does it cost and what do we get to use?
A.
A basic hire for 3 hours (2 hours for the party plus half an hour either side for set up / tidy up) will cost £120. If you require more hours you’ll be charged an additional £16 per hour. You’ll get the use of the large hall (Duncanrig Hall) and the kitchen and, of course, toilet facilities are included. When you use the kitchen to prepare food or re-heat food you take full responsibility for all food hygiene and allergen standards.
Q.
How and when do I pay for a hall hire?
A.
So long as the day and times you request are available we’ll send you an invoice by email. This must be paid at least seven days before your hall hire. Late payment (less than seven days before your hire) will be refunded to you and hall hire will not go ahead. Requests for hall hire must be made at least 14 days in advance of your requested date.
Q.
Can we use roller skates etc?
A.
No Sorry! We find that wheeled toys like roller skates, roller blades, skate boards and scooters damage the flooring. Please don’t use them inside the halls or corridors of the church
Q.
Can we use an indoor Bouncy Castle?
A.
Yes. The hall is big enough to take an indoor bouncy castle. One is enough in the hall don’t be tempted to squeeze two in there! (we have been asked before!) Bouncy Castles can be a risky business where injuries can easily occur. Just remember that Westwood Parish Church is not liable for anything that happens at your party. Your activities are not covered under our insurances.
Q.
What facilities are available in the hall?
A.
There are ample tables and chairs to use and we have a number of nursery sized chairs too for the very young. The hall is eqipped with an induction loop system for those who may have hearing impairment and PA system for music to be played over as well as a microphone to save you going hoarse. At this time the projector facility for DVD’s has expired. We are looking into a replacement.
Q.
What are the earliest times we can access the hall?
A.
A Saturday hire of the halls is flexible on access times. A Sunday however, is a bit different; 12.30pm is the earliest you can access the halls on a Sunday.
